A substantial share of our readers are in the European Union, so we have built this site to need as little from you as possible.

No third-party tracking

There is no analytics tag, no advertising pixel, no social widget, and no third-party cookie on this site. We measure traffic from our own server logs instead. That is a deliberate architectural choice: it means we do not need a consent banner, and we do not pass your browsing to anyone else.

What our server logs contain

Standard web-server records: the page requested, timestamp, HTTP status, referring page where the browser sends one, and user-agent string. These are used to keep the site working and to understand which pages are useful. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not shared for marketing.

If you email us

We keep the correspondence so we can answer you and, for corrections, so we can evidence that we handled the request properly. We do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.

Personal data in public records

Public records in several jurisdictions name individuals. We do not build pages about natural persons, and before any corpus is published we screen the rendered output for national personal identifiers in every field — including name and free-text fields, not only the fields where an identifier is supposed to live.

If a personal identifier or personal record has reached a public page here, tell us and we will remove it promptly. That is not a negotiation.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data. Email [email protected] and say that is what you are asking for. See also corrections and right of reply.
